Baby Showers used to be something old fashioned and boring. They fell out of favour for a while. Now, baby showers are back, baby, and boy, have they changed!
These days we do not sit around with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. The baby shower has turned into a fun event that Grandma needs her training shoes to attend.
BABY SHOWER
Some of the activities can get a little boisterous but it is all in fun. Really, it is not that wild; after all, at least one of the guests (the guest of honour) is usually pregnant.
There are many fun party games around for baby showers. Get onto the internet and look them up if you ever have the honour of throwing a baby shower for the mum-to-be. There are many ideas from costume parties to theme parties and almost everything in between.
There is a new trend for baby showers for Grandmas that is becoming quite popular. Grandmas these days are not as old and doddery as they are traditionally depicted and the 'new Grandmas' are taking an active role in babysitting. They given a baby shower and the gifts are baby care items they will need when they are babysitting. It saves the new parents having to cart cots, prams, high chairs and so on from house to house. Grandma keeps one set of furniture at her house and the parents keep another at their house.
Even Dad's, Uncles and other males are invited to share in the fun. A baby shower is no longer the exclusive domain of females. Father's are taking a more hands on approach to child raising and that includes actively participating in the fun of baby showers.
