Will the baby shower be a themed one?

BABY SHOWER

Often times, the host of a baby shower will select a theme that coincides with the Mom-to-be's nursery theme. This is a wonderful idea, and sure to please the new mom. For example, if Mom will be decking out her nursery in Winnie the Pooh, you could choose to incorporate that theme into the baby shower, and the cake. You could also do your own theme apart from the nursery theme. Some great ones for little boys are animals. trains, and sports. If the baby shower is not a themed one, you can pretty much choose any kind of wonderful cake.

Will you be purchasing the cake, or making your own?

When purchasing the cake, there are literally hundreds of options to choose from. You could get a special cake with mom's picture on it, easily choose a themed cake, or work with your favorite bakery to come up with your own unique idea.

If you will be making your own, there are tons of really great ideas that will be fun to make and be a hit at the party.
Here are some great ideas.

Baby 'clothesline' cake - Start with a sheet cake in any flavor you choose,(Make one from a box or from scratch, or purchase one that hasn't been frosted.) Frost the cake baby blue. A few drops of blue food coloring into white frosting will do the trick. Using a decorator's bag or a tube of writing icing, draw a horizontal line from one side of the cake to the other. Do this about two thirds down from the top of the cake. You can purchase little blue and yellow 'scrapbooking' baby clothes and blankets. Place those hanging from the line across the cake. A cute idea would be to draw in a little sun at the top of the cake, and grass and flowers at the bottom of the cake under the clothesline. You can get different colored writing icing tubes for this. A really cute saying on this cake would be, " Little fingers, little toes, itty-bitty baby clothes."

Another really cute variation on this cake is to start with 2 round cakes and frost them baby blue all the way around. Layer them, and then place the clothesline and baby clothes on the side of the cakes, with the saying on the top.

Another great idea to consider is using baby blocks on the cake spelling out 'Its a Boy,' or doing cupcakes instead and placing a small baby item on the top of each one. Using these ideas, you should be able to come up with a great cake that you will love, and that the party goers will love too.

Set it up as a tea party with different types of cookies around along with cookie recipes and jars containing various ingredients like chocolate chips, peanuts and gum drops. You can use frosting to put the girls name on a large cookie.

To begin with, imagine a theme for the celebration. Would you fancy a a Disney-influenced shower? Otherwise you might want to have a fairy theme. What ever image you make your mind up on, make sure that the invites that you will send out will be a sign of the core theme. One individual idea is to attach the printed invites to pacifiers or tie them with a ribbon and put them inside feeding bottles or powder puff canisters. You can also place them within any baby accessory that you think may be of use. They can be colored either pink or blue, or both, if you do not know the gender of the baby yet. These objects could even be taken to the party by the people for the mom to make use of after she has the baby.

It is possible to print out the particulars of where and when the shower party will take place and set them in picture frames. These could produce great invitations, and may be kept as after-party keep sakes. Ensure that the frames indicate the theme of the party as well.

Personalized Invitations;

A shower party will not be merely a acknowledgment to the boy or girl who's nearing birth, however it also celebrates the joys and sacrifices of the mom-to-be. She's the individual who deserves to have a break for taking care of a little one in her womb for the past months. One might think of methods to display the mother's qualities on the invitations that you will hand out. One website provides custom baby shower invitations, with names like Hip Mamma, Tummy love and Polka dot mama. You can even employ the mother's work, for example, as a party theme. If the mom-to-be dabbles in writing, you may bring into play children's titles as invites, simply poke a huge bookmark in there, wherever the facts of the shower party are going to be printed. For a mother who is a chef, or who just likes to cook dinner, you can fashion mini-cook hats that can be made of either felt, cloth or paper with the invite fixed on the front.

Purchase the invitations from the Internet--

In case you are in a hurry and will not have any time to knock together the invitations by hand, you'll be able to send off for them online. Baby Shoe Charm Shower - What is This New Baby Shower Craze?

The latest trend sweeping baby showers is the Baby Shoe Charm Shower. They are fun, exciting, and memorable. What exactly are they? They are a wonderful combination of all the traditional activities of a baby shower with the unique addition of baby charms and baby shoe charms.

baby shower party favors

Always keep in mind first and foremost that the overriding purpose of any baby shower is to "shower" the expectant mom with baby gifts, love, and support; and to join with her in celebration of the precious new addition to her family.

BABY SHOWER

Typically, there is a theme and it can be anything. It can be based upon things the baby will have in the nursery or items the baby will use in the kitchen and car. The theme can be as specific as just clothing for the baby or as broad as anything for baby!

A baby shoe charm shower allows the flexibility of choosing a theme, such as those suggested above, but it also features the additional benefit of giving a gift specifically designed for the new mom.

Each guest either buys a baby charm or gives a set amount of money to the hostess for a group baby charm bracelet. This bracelet can have different kinds of baby charms or just feature baby shoe charms. The hostess can decide on the bracelet theme.

The advantage to the hostess collecting money for the charms ahead of time is that all the charms can be purchased together and soldered to the bracelet at the same time to make a beautiful and uniform finished bracelet.

After all the punch, the light appetizers, the games and the gifts, the hostess presents the mother to be with this special baby charm bracelet. Regardless of the type of charm bracelet selected, this is a piece of jewelry that will be treasured for the rest of her life. Why? Because it represents all the things the baby shower represents, love, support and celebration of the arrival of the new little one.

Baby Shoe Charm Shower - What is This New Baby Shower Craze?

I've discovered a great new site which is chock full of even more ideas on how to host a terrific and memorable baby shoe charm shower. Also, for convenient one-stop-shopping on the baby charms, be sure to check out the Charm Factory. They offer a truly remarkable selection of baby charms, and since they are a sterling silver factory located right here in the United States, they have unbeatable prices. Each quality baby shoe charm is created by expert, experienced jewelers and made of the finest silver available today (.925 sterling silver).

Jungle Baby Shower Theme Ideas

A jungle baby shower theme is very adaptable. You can use many jungle animals or just choose one such as a lion, monkey or giraffe. Jungle baby shower themes are geared more towards baby boys but there's certainly no rule to that. You can adapt your jungle theme to suit a girl very easily by adding a little pink into the mix.

baby shower party favors

Decorations for a jungle baby shower theme are easy! Start with color. The colors in a jungle are obviously green and brown. You can use these colors for simple decorations like plain colored plates, napkins and silverware. This is often cheaper than purchasing themed paper products. Now what do you find in jungles? Trees, of course! Make lots and lots of trees out of green and brown paper. You can often find large rolls at your local craft supply store. Accentuate all of that jungle fever with stuffed jungle animals. You can pick these up at your dollar store or have each guest bring one as a gift to baby.

BABY SHOWER

Get creative with jungle food! Google a recipe for monkey bread, make a fruity centerpiece complete with mangoes, bananas, coconut & pineapple. Animal crackers can be strategically placed on a buffet table. Concoct your own version of "Jungle Juice". If you are going to be serving alcohol, why not make it long necks (a little giraffe humor there)?

You can play the usual baby shower games for entertainment or pop in the classic, Jungle Book and relax with your friends. Baby gets to keep it when you are done so buy a new copy. If you want to get really silly, purchase the game called "Jumping Monkeys" and make everyone take a turn. It's in the board game section of big box stores.

Your guests really deserve a baby shower favor if you've made them play Jumping Monkeys. How about something in an animal print? A sleep mask, pocket photo album, pair of slippers or a candle perhaps?

You see, a jungle baby shower isn't such a bad idea after all. It can be simple or creative. Go all out and have some fun with it!

Baby Shower - Tips For A Successful Baby Shower

Baby showers are shifting from the traditional to the modern fun oriented and realistic baby showers. Whatever it is, the main purpose for holding a baby shower is to celebrate the occasion also to help the expectant couple by giving them baby gifts.

baby shower diaper cake

The main concern while planning a baby shower is deciding who should be the hostess. The traditional rule suggests that close relatives should not host the occasion as this would like they are simply expecting gifts. For modern baby showers, anyone can plan and host it. This includes, friends, family and even co-workers.

BABY SHOWER

There is always the question whether the mom-to-be can have more that one shower and the answers is yes, you can have more that one. However, it would be wise to note what the previous shower theme was as you do not want to repeat the same theme at each party. Also, try to find out what baby shower gifts were given to avoid any duplication.

Below are some quick baby shower tips for a successful party: -

1) Send out invites around 3-4 weeks in advance to the guests who live nearby. For long distance guests, send out the invites 4-6 weeks ahead. Do include a small map to the place as you do not want your guests to get lost on the way.

2) Greet all guests as they arrive at the door as this shows how much you care for them. Provide name tags so that everyone can identify each other easily. Introduce the baby shower guests to one another and sit people who know each other together or have something in common.

3) Incorporate some quick and simple games for the baby shower guests as an ice breaker. If you have ample space, provide tables for your guests to sit and eat if a meal is planned. Eating with their plate on their lap is a definite no-no.

4) Try to place the gifts at a specific location and it is appreciated to bring the gifts to the mom-to-be as she opens gifts. The expectant mother should not carry anything, especially bulky items. Around the time of the baby shower, she is likely to feel weak. Note and write down which baby shower guest gave which gift. This will come in handy, when it comes to sending out thank you cards.

5) Ensure you have enough baby shower party favors on hand. Remember more is better that none! Get the party started on time and keep things moving at a good pace. You will be surprised how time flies during the party. Walk your guests to the door as they leave and thank them for coming to the baby shower. Everyone feels special and likes given due attention.

6) If you are hosting the party, show the utmost responsibility and carefulness. A well planned baby shower party would be appreciated by all your guests. When serving food, serve the expectant mother and then your baby shower guests. You as the hostess should serve yourself last.

Baby Showers for Older Mothers

Baby showers are always a fun event. Traditionally an expectant mom is thrown shower by her friends or family. Part of the reason for having a shower is to relieve the initial costs associated with having a baby. Most young couples are just starting out in life and the cost of preparing for their first child can be both expensive and overwhelming.

baby shower thank you cards

However when an older Mom is expecting a baby the couple is more aware of what to expect and many times more financially prepared to handle the cost. In fact there are many reasons why older expectant Mom's might want a less traditional shower; and if the couple has been trying to conceive for a long time, the event become more about the celebration and a lot less about the gift tally. A shower for an older Mom can be an emotional and truly joyous occasion. Honoring that fact at the shower should be a part of the celebration.

BABY SHOWER

Think about a less traditional affair

When planning the shower there are a lot of things to consider. Many of the couple's friends are probably married and the option of considering a coed party should be considered. Another option is to have a destination shower for the Mom and a few of her close friends. Most likely a day of pampering would be greatly appreciated. Considering what the Mom is about to undergo in labor and delivery a relaxing day at the spa might be just the right thing.

Another option for a less traditional shower for an older Mom is to have the shower after the baby is born. Many women, with high risk pregnancies, prefer this. A "Welcome Home" celebration is the perfect solution to celebrate the birth of the newborn while also being sensitive to the wishes of the expectant mother.

Fun Baby Games To Play At The Baby Shower

Anyone who has ever has a baby knows that babies are lots of fun but baby shower games are fun for everyone because the mom-to-be, grandparents, and all the other adults get the opportunity to play like a kid. Some of the more popular baby games played at baby showers are Baby Truth or Dare, Measuring Up Mommy, and Sing It Baby!

baby shower diaper cake

Baby shower games like these are some of the ones that are played most frequently and are a simple way of showing the new mom-to-be that she is much highly thought of and appreciated. They also make for a great icebreaker helping people to get together and know each other better.

BABY SHOWER

So how are these baby games played? Let's take a look at each one.

Baby Truth or Dare is a great baby game for those who love trivia, particularly baby trivia. To play the game you will want to have baby trivia facts written down ahead of time and include correct and incorrect answers. As you play the game you will ask guest at random whether a baby fact that you state is true or false. If one answers correctly they are rewarded with some type of prize while those guess the wrong answer are given a dare to take.

Measuring Up Mommy is another fun game, just be sure that mommy is okay with this before you plan it! Some mommys-to-be may be too sensitive about their belly size! This game gives everyone at the baby shower the opportunity to measure the size of mommy's belly. You start the game by having toilet paper rolls ready for the guests to use in order to guess the size. Each participant in this game will cut the toilet paper to the size that they think will fit mommy's waist. Once this is done each guest wraps their paper around the mommy-to-be's waist with the one coming nearest to guessing right being declared the winner.

Sing it Baby is a game in which each guest must sing a couple of lines from a song that includes the word, baby. You organize the game by having everyone gather in a circle which can be standing or sitting. When the first player finishes their song, the next person to the right gets ten seconds to sing a song with baby in it. The songs cannot be repeated and anyone who cannot think of one or repeats one that has already been sung gets kicked out of the game

These are some of the more fun of the baby shower games I know of, you can probably think of some more.

Green would be a great color to use for an overall theme for the shower, especially if it's not known if baby is going to be a girl or a boy. However, when I suggest that you may like to have a green baby shower, I'm talking about holding a shower that reflects your love of the world and helping make it a beautiful place for the new arrival.

If you like this idea as a theme for your baby shower, then, from the moment you adopt it, you will see how easy it is to source products and produce that will support you in this. The following are just a few examples of some elements of your shower to which you can add the green touch:

BABY SHOWER EVITES

Invitations

Many adorable invitations, in both printed and print your own format, are available on paper and card made from recycled materials.

If you adopt the green theme this may even help you with the baby shower wording of your invitations. You could, perhaps, put something fun such as "Another branch is expected on our tree", or "Another bird is going to join our flock". Play around with the idea and take your inspiration from nature itself.

Decorations

Like invitations, made from recycled and recyclable material. If you are using bought flowers, then Fair Trade ones are available, as are organic and, of course, always shop locally if you can, to reduce your carbon footprint.

Feeling creative? How about spending a day foraging in nature and harvesting some of her gifts? Some of her gifts can be harvested without worry. If your baby shower is in the fall, then why not make use of pretty pine cones and fallen leaves?

Party Favors

If you are buying favors think about favors that are made from Fair Trade

and organic materials. Again, you could give small gifts made from "green" materials. How about making your own chocolate or baked goods to give away, all made with organic ingredients, or cuttings from plants that you have lovingly sown yourself? Giving plants or cuttings away would be a lovely symbolic act of the new life that has just been grown by the Universe.

By now you have probably realized that a Green baby shower can also be an economic one!

Menu Ideas

In this area, too, the emphasis should be on organic, Fair Trade, and locally sourced food & ingredients. Providing the catering yourself would be the most environmentally friendly option, and this would enable you to carry your green theme through to the decoration of the food in a fun way. How about making a cake in the shape of a favorite wild animal? A hedgehog would be ideal for this due to its simple rotund body!

Consider also using crockery plates, rather than disposable ones, but if you do want the ease of doing this, then those made from recycled materials are available.

Gifts for Mom

If you are the organizer, then the theme is your theme, and the whole point of a gift is that it should be given from the heart. It would be unfair to then stipulate what your guests should bring. However, there is nothing wrong in a gentle nudge in the right direction with baby shower wording on your invites such as, "The theme is Green, so a planet-friendly gift would be great. Let's help the new arrival have a cleaner, better world." If your guests do decide to go along with the spirit of the event, they will find a wealth of organic and fair trade goods available in all price ranges.

Giving Back

We now all know that our precious world is vulnerable, and needs to be treasured and cared for, just like a baby. It is not by chance that we refer to nature as "Mother Nature", for She nurtures and provides for us every day of our lives, and we live by the fruits of her labors. So how lovely to give something back to her at the end of your baby shower and plant a tree. What an beautiful way to remember the day that Mom was honored by her friends and family.

Looking for Free, Cheap, or Do-It-Yourself Baby Shower Invitations?

Are you looking for some different, inexpensive baby shower invitations? If you want to send out an invitation that is more unique than the purchased, standard baby shower invitation, there are some fun ideas that you can do yourself. Some of the ideas might take a bit more energy, but the payoff in the cuteness factor will really wow your guests.

Diaper invitations

BABY SHOWER EVITES

There's a couple of ways you can make these invitations. The first is to use white paper, cut into triangles. Fold the pointed ends into a diaper shape and secure with a small safety pin. Then open the invitation back up and write the party information on the inside of the diaper.

The other way to make the invitations is to use white felt, flannel, or other suitable fabric and fold like a diaper and pin as above. Write the party information on a separate slip of paper and tuck inside the diaper. Both of these types of invitations can be mailed.

Toy invitations

This invitation can be the beginning of a game or lead to a prize. If you are giving a ducky themed or any type of stuffed animal themed party, pick up small toys at the dollar store, write a number on or pin it to the toy. Tie a ribbon around the toy's neck with the party information on it, and mail it in a small box or hand deliver to your guests. Ask the guest to bring the toy with them to the party. At the party you can draw a number to see who wins the prize.

Balloons

Here's my personal favorite. Take a helium balloon that's deflated and write the baby shower information on it with a felt tip marker. Inflate the balloon with helium and tie a ribbon around the neck. Tuck the balloon into a small box and tape the ribbon end inside the box. You may want to hand deliver these, but they can also be mailed. When the guest opens the box, the balloon floats out. It's eye-catching and definitely unusual.

Birth Certificates

This invitation is quick to make and easy to mail. Take parchment paper and cut into sizes that will fit into an envelope. You can use a black felt tipped marker to draw squiggles and designs around the edges. Just make it look like a birth certificate for the new baby. Write all the party information on the certificate and mail.

Creative Baby Shower Invitations

You are in charge of hosting a baby shower for your best friend. You've made the guest list, menu, and figured out the decorations. But what are you going to do for invitations. Store bought ones seem so impersonal to you, so why not make your own?

It doesn't take a lot of talent, or even craftiness, to make your own invitation. All it takes is the right tools and some creativity.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

To make any of the follow invitations you'll need to have the right tools. Here is a list of the basic craft items you'll need.

- Scissors

- Glue

- Construction paper

- Baby stickers and decorative cutouts

- Colored pens or markers

- Standard invitation envelopes for mailing

Each invitation is simple to make and will make a lasting impression on your guests. Just remember to save a couple of them for the mother-to-be for her baby book. And now, on to the invitations.

Diaper Days: A cute invitation is to take a piece of pink or light blue cardboard paper - both if you don't know the baby's gender, and cut it in a triangle shape. On the inside center write the party information, along with any other information the guests need to know. Fold the sides of the triangle in on themselves and then fold the bottom point up too, making a diaper-shaped triangle. Using either a real diaper pin, or a sticker of one, seal the invitation up and send it on it's way. It's cute and will get your guests in the mood for a baby shower.

Birth Certificates: Another cute invitation is to make a small birth certificate. Have the parent's names on there, with the other party information as well. You can use a computer and good quality paper and there are even seals you can buy to put on the invites to give them an official look.

Baby Blocks: Cut out squares of different colored construction paper and put the letters A, B, and C on them using colored markers or scrapbook stickers. For each invitation you'd need one of each. Glue them on another piece of colored paper, with the blocks overlapping so they look like building blocks. Write the party information around the blocks and send them off.

Hand/Foot Prints: Draw hand and foot prints on pink and light blue construction paper. Write the party information on one side and slip into an envelope for an easy and adorable invitation.

With just a little creativity, and some work, you can make your friend's baby shower invites extra special. Just have fun with them and you won't be disappointed.

Baby Shower Invitation Wording Guidelines

You've picked the theme, the colors, and cute graphics for your baby shower invitations. Now, it's time to decide what you're going to say in the invitation. Deciding on what to write on your baby shower invitation can be a daunting task. Your shower invitation is the first communication guests will have about the baby shower and must include certain important information. It is also a chance for you to get creative and really introduce your theme and tone for the party.

Start with the basics. First, you need to gather all of the essential information that needs to be included in the invitation. Be sure to include the mother's name, the baby's name (or gender), the date of the shower, the time of the baby shower, the location and address where the shower will be held, and contact information for whom guests should R.S.V.P. You may also want to include registry information, any baby shower game or activity instructions (should guests bring a baby picture of themselves or a pack of diapers?), and any specific gift instructions.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

Next, consider the type of shower you are hosting. Are you keeping it traditional with fun games and finger food? Are you inviting couples or even families? If you are inviting men to the shower, it is essential to word the invitation so that men know that they are invited and welcome. Try to stay away from pastels and unnecessary frills. If you are hosting a baby sprinkle for the second or even third child, make sure your baby shower invitation wording lets guests know if they should bring gifts for a different gender or that the parents only need disposable baby items such as bibs, bottles and pacifiers. Hosting a spa themed shower? Ask guests to bring their favorite relaxation item for the mom-to-be.

Use a poem for your baby shower invitation wording. Poems are a cute way to express yourself and your excitement for the new baby. You have all your basic information, now is your chance to add your own creative flair. Research ideas for verses online and add your own twist to it. For example, if the mom-to-be is expecting a boy, you may want to start your invitation out with "Oh what fun, oh what joy, (mom's name) is having a boy!" For a girl, you could start the wording out with "A little pink bow on a cute little curl, (mom's name) is having a girl!" Or, if you're not sure of the gender of the baby, begin your invitation out with "Ten little fingers, Ten little toes, Boy or Girl? No one knows!"

Wording for your baby shower invitation can be as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be. Just remember to include all essential information, keep it true to your theme, and be sure the wording for the invitation comes from your heart.

Boy Baby Shower Invitations - Tradition and Contemporary Style Blended Together

You're expecting a baby boy. Good for you! Naturally, you want to share your joy with friends and family, so a party is a must. Luckily, there is a range of boy baby shower invitations that cover every taste from the most traditional to the most contemporary.

A baby mobile is a long-standing tradition that gets continually brought up to date. The Baby Mobile baby shower invitation shows just how. A delightful motif of tiny animals hanging from strings provides the traditional element. The graphic design is completely contemporary. The best of both worlds.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

Speaking of animals, check out the Safari Bunch card. This cheerful baby shower invite features a giraffe, monkey, and hippo who all have just one thing in mind: join us for a day of fun! The gentle nutmeg background provides a lovely quiet contrast to those happy creatures. Share their spirit of joy at the upcoming blessed event.

It isn't just animal lovers who love pandas. These funny and gentle creatures are favorites around the world. That makes them the ideal motif for a boy baby shower invitation card. Mom and baby panda cling to bamboo on the left side while the right half provides plenty of space to list your particulars. Use the editable text box to say anything you like!

Sometimes, the best way to say it is with a photo. The Sweet Touch photo card lets you do just that. Upload your favorite snapshot. That image could feature the happy mom and dad to be. You could provide an image of your first child. Or, you could offer a computer-generated image of what your child will look like at age two. Whichever you select, your baby shower invitation is bound to be kept long after the party is over.

"Fun, fun, fun" just might be the perfect description of the Hip Mama baby shower invitation. The upper portion shows a cartoon mom-to-be inviting everyone to share her day of joy. Thanks to her oversized baby bump, there's no doubt what the party is about. Thanks to her big smile, you know how she feels about it.

Let the Fashion Forward card show you how to combine tradition and up-to-the-minute style. A cheery pink outfit on the graphic mom-to-be proudly displaying her baby bump creates a sense of contemporary fashion in a traditional pose. A new tradition is about to be born here, perhaps.

The "Love Grows" baby shower invitation card features a lovely baby boy blue background and a silhouette of the expectant mother. No one will have to guess what she's expecting, thanks to the insert of an ultrasound image inside her baby bump. Modern technology meets a traditional invitation and the result is the perfect marriage.

Baby Shower Invitation Wording

Your invitation wording can be either generic or specific. If you know the gender of the baby, then you should try to create gender specific wording for the invitation. There are wonderful little sayings for baby boys, as well as wonderful sayings for baby girls. But if the gender's not yet known, don't worry. There are many standard wording options as well.

baby shower diaper cake

You will find ideas online for twins, triplets, and even adoption baby shower invitation wording. You can search for ideas in many places, but the best place to look for anything in our world today is the Internet. Many invitation websites have what's called 'Wording Libraries' where they offer hundreds of wording options for you. Your or formal depending on the overall style and theme of the event. Just be sure to be consistent. People will assume that casual wording means it's going to be a casual event!

BABY SHOWER

Your baby shower invitation wording needs to contain some important information, like the time, date, location, and the names of the guests of honor! Don't forget to include where the mother or mother to be is registered for gifts. And perhaps you're throwing a surprise baby shower - what fun! Just be sure to tell your guests to keep it quiet in the baby shower invitation wording. Here is a sample wording for baby shower invitations when you want to keep the big event a surprise:

Shhh! It's a Secret!

Here is a sample wording when the invitation is for an adopted baby:

Whatever you decide to say on your baby shower invitation, be sure to proofread your baby shower invitation wording and spelling to make sure that all of the information is correct. It would be a shame to order and pay for so many baby shower invitations, only to find printing mistakes and have the shipping delayed because of waiting for reprints. Taking time to proofread in advance is always a wise idea.

And if you're not sure what to say, or if you're not sure if the information is clear or if you wonder if it sounds all right, then don't hesitate to get a second opinion. Family and friends can help you, and many vendors will have customer service representatives standing by ready to assist with wording for invitations.

While you're ordering or creating the wording for your baby invitation, don't forget to consider the wording of your thank you notes! Often these are ordered at the same time and made to match the invitations. Again, your wording can include poems quotes, etc. and you will want to keep the same style, color, or theme. Hopefully, you know the mother well enough to know what her preferences are.

And if you're not trying to keep the baby shower event a surprise, then go ahead and ask her or her close family members about her opinions about the baby shower invitation wording. She may appreciate being a part of the decision making process, or she may be just as happy to have someone else make some decisions for her, so her mind can be on other important things, like preparing for the new baby's arrival!

Baby Shower Poem

Poetry is such lively means of communicating. It is a creative way of expressing
emotion, intellect and aspirations. It is filled with sentiment and mirrors the
individual's true inner being. Such channel of expression is befitting an equally
elating occasion: the anticipated arrival of a newborn. Here are ways of
incorporating poems into the momentous event, the baby shower.

baby shower diaper cake

Invitation Poems

BABY SHOWER

Poetry about babies can give the baby shower invitation added appeal. Think of
what it feels like to have a baby, the hope of anticipation and the fulfillment of birth.
Include in the poem how you'd like those wonderful feelings to be shared with the
guest being invited. Finally, to give the invitation a customized appeal, include the
invitation details in the poem, carefully spreading the details, all throughout the
verse, if possible.

Thank You Poems

Thank you poems are creative ways of expressing love and happiness for the future
newborn. With the upcoming occasion, there are many things to thank for: having
God ís blessing in such a delicate form or having the support of family and friends
while playing the waiting game. Mom-to-be can deliver the thank you poem. If it is
a co-ed baby shower, the Dad-to-be can do the honors.

Another way of saying thank you is through the baby shower thank you card. This
is sent to all guests who gave gifts for the occasion. Include a short rhyme on how
blessed the baby is for having guardians as loving as the guest who sent the gift.
Then end by thanking them for it.

Poems for Baby Shower Activities

It is uncommon to have a baby shower and poetry reading in one, but it is an idea
that can work among a very strong lyrical society. Most poets are very comfortable
in expressing and conversing in verses, and if the future parents are poets
themselves, then a poetry reading baby shower is not a bad idea. Who knows they
maybe anticipating a future rhymester!

However, if you are like the rest of the world, using poems is not impossible in the
conventional baby shower. It actually adds an enriching element to the event that
everyone can gain knowledge from. Use rhymes to open and close the event, or
when praising the Mom-to-be or future newborn. Riddles are also poems so use
them in a game of treasure hunt or guessing game.

Cake Poetic Inscriptions

Since Verses and Rhymes is a good theme for a baby shower, why not include a line
on the cake? Express how your future newborn is as sweet as the cake, or how much
everyone is lovingly waiting for the baby. Mom-to-be does the honor of articulating
the cake inscription before cutting it.

Baby Shower Favors

A fundamental part of any baby shower is the party favors, both as prizes and
memorabilia. This is a wonderful opportunity to incorporate poems!

For winning games, contests or solving riddles, prizes can be awarded together with
a poem about how remarkable the win was. The poetic party host can pronounce,
in verses, how amazing the game was played and how miraculous winner won.
Lastly, prize recipients can give their own ìthank youî verse or two.

As the guests leave, give them an inexpensive memento of the occasion, and as in
the whole baby shower theme, include a poem about how it was made special
because of the guestís presence.

Poems indeed, add more life to such a warmhearted occasion about giving life: the baby shower.

Making a Baby Shower Invitation

Parents often spend thousands of dollars to prepare their children for life by sending them to the most expensive schools in the state and overseas. However, the one thing that we are never taught is how to bring and raise a new born into this world. Nonetheless, women often find unique ways to prepare a first time mother on the dos and don'ts of raising a child by holding for them baby showers. Hosting such event is not a task for the feint hearted as a lot of input is required from preparing the invitations to the catering. Luckily enough, thanks to internet technology, you can get help on preparing and hosting a baby shower from Tickled Pink Design, an online web based company that specializes in invitation card designs, gifts and shipping for events or activities like this.

Baby shower invitations are the means by which you can set the tempo for the main event prior to the big day. The invitations are meant to give the attendees an insight as to what to expect at the baby shower, i.e. what to adorn, mood of the party, kinds of favors to expect and much more.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

However, not many stores stock on baby shower invitations and the ones that may be available may not match your intended theme. It is thus recommended that you custom make your own invitations that will send the required message to the invited guests.

Discussed here are the guidelines to make invitations at home.

Instructions
First and foremost, you need to decide on the theme to place in the invitations to be sent out. Where the party may be casual, funny and free spirited, select a baby shower invitation that mirrors that specific theme and style. On the other hand, if the party will be formal and elegant, search for an invitation that reflects on this type of style. To help you through, you can log into the internet, and access Tickled Pink Designs.

Once you are completely sure of the theme and style of the day, Begin going through various baby shower invitations. Select a couple that you may like and put them aside for some days. Take time to view them each day against each other and choose one that you think stands out most from the pack.

The wordings used in the baby shower invitations should be thought of at great length as they should be able to answer any questions that those who will be attending might have with regards to the party. To help you do so, go through some of the invitations in Tickled Pink Designs.

If the party is going to be casual and free spirited, please be sure to state it clearly in the card. You can add some wordings at the bottom of the invitation such as "Be sure to dress down, we do not want you messing your Sunday's best dress as there will be lots of games!"

Where the baby shower will be more of a formal event, add an extra note at the bottom of the invitation stating, "This may not be a fashion show, however, ensure you are well dressed!"

Tips for writing baby shower invitations
Discussed here are few tips on how to write an invitation.
- Ensure that basic information, e.g. name of mother-to-be, baby, date, time, location and RSVP have been included in the card.
- For formal baby shower invitations, use elegant invitation cards. If there will be a sit-down meal, ensure that the invitation is formal.
- Be creative by including witty poems in the wordings.
- If your plan is to have a co-ed party, address the invitations to both men and women.

Making a Baby Shower Invitation

Invitations such as baby shower invitations should be sent out one month prior to the party. This will ensure that invited guests have adequate time to make the necessary arrangements.

Most likely if you're having a baby shower, the baby will yet to have been born, so you will have to settle for a drawing, or the footprint of someone else's baby. If this isn't your first child, a very special thing to do is to use one of your other children's footprints - or you can even use your own from when you were a baby! If those are unavailable, you may wish to use the footprints of a sibling or parent. Imagine the honor when you tell them the footprints on the invitations are theirs!

BABY SHOWER

By using a digital scan of the footprints, you can simply crop around them in a photo editing program. Then just paste those onto your invitations and print them out for the perfect baby shower footprint invitation!

You can also make the invitations without a digital scanner or software if that's easier for you. Just go to an office supply store or printing store that makes copies. First, make a copy of the footprints so you don't have to damage the original. Then, with a pair of scissors, crop around the footprints so they are free with no border around them. Now, you can make your invitation on another piece of paper, either by hand, or by printing them out on the computer. Simply glue the footprints in place where you want them, and make as many copies (color copies are best, of course) as needed. You can print two or four per sheet of paper so they don't have to be oversized.

If you don't have existing footprints to work with, not to worry! You can always find generic footprints or a drawing of footprints online. Many hobby stores may sell rubber stamps you can use to stamp a footprint onto your invitations. If you can't find one at a hobby store, there is a huge selection of rubber stamps available over the internet.

For an added touch, you can now order customized stamps. Stamps.com now allows you to upload an image to order customized postage stamps. You can use the photo of the baby footprints to complete the theme!

Baby footprints can also be used on announcements (of pregnancy and birth), as well as thank you notes to complete the theme. You're not limited to just the baby shower footprint invitation. Use the customized stamps to complete the look!

Baby Shower Invitation Wording - What Do I Say?

Sending out the invitations for a baby shower is a formality you have to take care of well in advance to give the guests enough time to respond. You have to think carefully about the baby shower invitation wording you are going to use. Make sure everyone knows what they need to know.

Ok, so now you are worried. Don't be, it is not as difficult as you may think. There are a few important things you need to remember. For the rest, you have to keep your baby shower theme, or no theme, in mind and try to let your baby shower invitation wording incorporate it.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

So, now we come to the essentials that you need to include. Actually that is very easy, you need to say, when, where and where to RSVP and date by which the RSVP needs to reach you. If it is at all possible, include a map with directions to the venue. It is also a good idea to add some info about parking that will be available.

Now that you have the most important part it is time to think about the rest. First of all, if the mommy-to-be has a gift registry, you need to tell the prospective guests about it. Of, course that will rule out gifts according to a theme as it will have to be gifts that are in the registry.

If there is not gift registry, then it is a good idea to give the guests an idea of what kind of gift to bring. Here you have to be very sensitive towards people's financial circumstances. It is best to keep the suggestions to small and cheap gifts the mom will be able to use.

Of course, if you have a theme it is good to tell them about it in your baby shower invitation wording so that their gifts can fall in with your theme. Even a simple color theme can be mentioned to give them an idea of what to bring.

Make sure you have the essential information in your baby shower invitation wording and you will be fine.

Baby Shower Invitation Wording - What Do I Say?

The Baby Shower Invitation Wording needs to be precise and to the point. The guests must be left in no doubt about the arrangements. For more ideas about baby showers have a look at Ideas For Baby Shower.

Baby Shower Games to Make Your Baby Shower Exciting

The perfect way to spoil the baby shower games is when there is less involvement and participation from your guests. Have you ever been to a shower, any kind of party, and been bored to death? Well, I have, and let me tell you, they are as boring as they get.

Also you don't have a choice but to grin and bear it because you don't want to demotivate or offend the guest of honor. Would you like to have that kind of game for your guest of honor? I know the answer would be a big NO.

BABY SHOWER

Games keep the party lively and entertaining:
No two ways about it. Baby shower games when introduced in the party and managed well will make the guest want to stay longer and give your expecting mother a lot of warmth and fun.

The best thing about the games is that it relieves the expectant mother of the stress which comes with being pregnant. As you might know yourself, being pregnant can be a very stressful time. She gets to be involved in the fun and enjoy the games with joy.

Tips on making games look better:
There is a lot of pressure on the hostess to provide fresh game ideas. You have a lot to do with a limited amount of time to prepare for the shower.

The best games will be the ones which match the age group and gender group that is coming to the shower. The games you choose will also depend upon if you are going to be more formal, or casual in your clothing choice.

Finally, if you have decided on a theme for your shower, the games should fit in with the theme. You also need to figure out how many, and how much time is needed to play the shower games. I would consider about three games for a two hour shower.

This gives the guests plenty of time to do all the other things you have planned for the shower, like opening of the gifts, serving a meal or appetizers, getting to know each other and sharing time with the expectant mother.

You might also consider giving out small but useful items as door prizes and/or prizes for the game winners. You don't need to spend much for the wer game prizes. Maybe a phone card, fancy bar soap, manicure set, picture frame, shampoo, notepaper, cookie cutters, sewing repair kit, chocolates, storage boxes, or other small but useful items that won't break the bank would be ideal prizes for the games.

There are many kinds of games, including free shower games and printable shower games you can purchase for a very reasonable price. Some online merchants sell kits that have everything needed for a baby shower. Then there are other merchants who sell themed kits with games, single games and/or baby shower game kits. Most of these come as downloadable games you can print off your computer, while a few merchants sell games that are shipped to you. Whatever your needs, you can purchase or find free games to fit all your baby shower needs.

Baby Shower Traditions

When planning a baby shower for your family or friends take into account the many baby shower traditions you can implement to make it an event that everyone will enjoy. Also, one that the Mother to be will remember.

baby shower

Schedule the party in the early afternoon hours as this is a customary time to hold them. The most earliest showers were made into tea parties as well back in the Victorian era. So keep this in mind and maybe set up different beverages and finger foods that everyone loves. Don't forget one of the main ingredients though, the baby shower cake for the Mother herself.

BABY SHOWER

The shower is usually held within the last six weeks of the expectant mom's due date. You can hold these affairs at someone's home, your church, a restaurant (but this will not allow a lot of socializing time), in a park or at a room you have rented for the day.

Newer traditions are those of themed baby showers. You can design the entire event around one theme. If the mom knows the sex of the baby then it is even easier to come up with a theme.

For girls of course the colors pink and purple, princess, animals, fairy tale, popular girls characters like Dora etc. Or ladybugs are just a few theme ideas.

For little boys think blue and pale green colors and for themes try one of these Noah's ark, space, cars, cowboy's, pirates etc. Let your imagination run wild.

If the sex is unknown then go for neutral colors such as yellow and green. A theme could be something that would be suitable for either sexes. Animals, ABC's and many others are themes you could use here.

Incorporate fun games for the shower such as baby bingo, guess moms belly size and win a prize, baby food name game, celebrity baby match game and more. You can think of lots of games that everyone would enjoy taking part.

All invitations need to be sent at least six weeks in advance to give people time to make necessary arrangements to attend. These can be ordered from a stationary store or to save some money made on your own computer at home. If all guests on your guest list have emails then save even more money by sending them invitations online.

The attending guests should all receive a small party favor to show your gratitude and love. These do not have to be fancy or expensive. Some ideas include baby shower chocolate kisses in tin, baby bottle filled with candy, Candles in the shape of a pacifier or baby bottle, personalized magnets, bookmarks, frames etc. These are just some, there are many others you could come up with yourself.

One of the important baby shower traditions is for the expectant mother to thank everyone by sending thank you cards after the shower This is a must as it is respectful. These should be sent to everyone who attended as well as anyone who sent her a gift.

The Best Baby Showers Start with the Best Baby Shower Invitations

Hosting a baby shower for a favorite female in your life is one of the best gifts that anyone can give to a mom-to-be. Bringing friends and family of the expecting parents together to celebrate the upcoming event while "showering" gifts upon the pregnant one, assembling fine eats and beverages for all to enjoy, and adorning the party room with decorations is a task worthy of it's own party- and it all begins with the best baby shower invitations.

The days of pre-packaged baby shower invitations that require the necessary information be filled-in by hand are gone, as the latest rage is having your baby shower invitations printed by a professional company. By offering unique designs, eye-catching fonts and colorful graphics (as well as the more classic styles), printing companies can create an invitation that's as original as your guest of honor and her upcoming new arrival!

BABY SHOWER EVITES

"Jack and Jill" baby showers in which couples are invited to attend are growing in popularity, as more and more dads-in-training want to be a part of baby activities, and want their friends to be there, too. An introductory title containing the term "Jack and Jill", or a simple tag line at the bottom (like "Couples Welcome!") will get your point across nicely.

Be sure to order a few extra invitations as keepsakes for the new mom, anyone involved with the planning, and yourself. This significant keepsake will make a great page in your scrapbook.

When to Order Baby Shower Invitations- A baby shower is typically held 1 to 2 months before the baby's due date, and the invitations should go out in the mail about three weeks before the party date to give guests enough time to make the necessary arrangements to attend. Leave yourself a week to address the envelopes and another 10 days for your order to be processed, shipped and arrive at your home. Ordering the invitations about 6 weeks before the shower date allows you plenty of time to coordinate the event.

Other Tips for Hosting the Best Baby Shower- The best baby showers are the ones in which guests leave with a smile on their face. A few games and interesting activities that can serve as insight for the soon to be mom are usually a lot of fun for everyone. Have shower guests write some helpful guidance in an "Advice Book", a guest book-type of souvenir for the guest of honor that will be filled with information for surviving parenthood. "Name that Baby Food!" is a favorite game, where all guests are blindfolded and given a sample of the tasteless, jarred food and have to guess what it is. Don't forget to pass out baby shower favors as a thank-you and keepsake for this festive day.

Baby Shower Decorating Ideas For a Simple Or Elegant Shower

Baby shower decorating ideas can range from simple to glamorous and everything in between. Decorations are an important part of your baby shower whether you decide to go for the simple or the elegant shower. Depending on your taste and budget shower decorating ideas can vary from one person to the next.

baby shower centerpieces

The easiest place to start is the theme. Decide on a theme for your shower to make things more organized and easy. The theme depends on the tastes of the happy parents-to-be. 'Winnie the Pooh', 'pink', 'blue' or a Christmas theme if it's the Christmas season are a few traditional examples. The same theme used for previous children can be economical. However there are no specific rules. Therefore you can let your imagination run wild to your hearts content over the theme.

Balloons are always in. It's cute and cost effective. A medium sized bunch of balloons can be bought for about . Helium balloons are available in various shapes at local stores. The helium balloons can be tied to the chair of the mom-to-be.

Another popular shower decorating idea is to hang disposable diapers on a string spelling 'BABY SHOWER' and stringing it across the room. The diapers can spell any other words such as 'IT'S A GIRL' or the baby's name if you've already picked one.

Candles are an excellent shower decorating item if you are going for an elegant and classy look. You can also string Christmas lights and drape tulle over the lights to add to the glamorous look. Little baby booties, bibs, rattles and other baby items can be hung on the tulle for a cuter look.

Confetti is another excellent idea for shower decorations. They even come especially for baby showers with various baby shapes and in cartoon characters. Home made streamers and hand made banners add a personal touch to the shower decorations. Even the table cloth, napkins and napkin holders can be a part of the decoration if they are bought according to the theme.

Baby shower decorating ideas do not have to be traditional. You do not have to stick to any specific decorations. After all it is your baby shower. Use your imagination and creativity in coming up with ideas. Get together with your best friends or your family and brainstorm for baby shower decorating ideas. This can be very fruitful and will also make everyone feel more involved with your baby shower.

Baby Shower History

There is no way to determine exactly where or when the "baby shower" originated. There are several theories on baby shower history, but none can be proven. No matter where and when baby showers were first introduced, today they are a very special event celebrating a new life.

baby shower gifts

Some historians have found evidence of baby showers, or something similar, quite some time ago. These discoveries lead experts to believe that celebrating birth started in ancient cultures, like those in the Egyptian and Roman times. No definitive proof is available, but historians have deciphered data which could mean baby showers took place.

BABY SHOWER

When you look at baby showers from long ago, you see that most of the gifts given to the family were handmade. Articles of clothing, blankets, and even food items were provided as gifts for the new family. Showers in the past occurred after the birth of the child, so many times part of the "baby shower" was the viewing of the new child.

In recent years, the baby shower has started to occur before the actual birth of the child. With the new technology that is available to expectant parents, the gender of the child is not so much a mystery. Therefore, a baby shower can be thrown early in preparation for the baby's arrival without the worry of buying the wrong thing.

No matter what the baby shower history is, the baby shower of today is a supportive and generous event toward new or expectant parents. With all the current trends toward "unisex" items, it is hard to buy the wrong thing!
