Baby Boy Names

A baby brings joy and happiness. It also carries forward a bit of you. Perhaps the most important function a parent undertakes after the birth of a boy is to select a name for him. Most parents would like the name to be special, and mean something to their son when he grows up.

baby gates

A son for many holds a special place. Since ancient times a son is seen to be the "one to carry on the family." Naming a son can be quite emotional and often family traditions come into play--in many families sons carry into the next generation the family name, which may be centuries old.

Baby

Be practical and take up the task like modern-day parents. Buy a beautiful inspiring notebook and write down your thoughts. Would I like my son to carry forward a tradition or heritage? Would I like him to be proud of his roots? Or shall we strike out and name him something different? Weigh the pros and cons of all these options.

Call over the family or clan for an impromptu get-together and make the "name choosing" a collective effort. Glance into family legends and history. Study the family tree and how different generations were named. Find out if anyone in the family was famous or illustrious, like a poet, a painter, or writer. Is there an explorer or adventurer hidden among your ancestors? Discover a pioneer who may have sailed the ocean to bring his family to a new land. Make a list of such possibilities.

Consider carefully if you would like your son to be named after a person who has meant something to you, helped you, or done something special. Look through social security lists, literature, the World Wide Web, and books for inspiration. In case you belong to an ethnic group or culture or specific religion, and have a religious frame of mind, then look for a name in the scriptures or books that are specific to your origins and culture.

Many like naming their children after great men from history, or heroes of legend and lore. Or on attributes such as strength, intelligence, beauty, and so on. If you would like to think about this then spare the time to go to a library and do intensive research.

Once you have made a tentative list of names both of you like, you must say it out loud, whisper it softly, sing a song, and write it out. How does it co-ordinate with your last name? Check whether the initials do not sum up to be something embarrassing, like ASS. Can the name become the source of peer teasing? Will the child and his friend be able to spell or pronounce it? And is the name such that it will grow with the child? Imagine a grown woman called Pixie or a hulk of a man called Jellybeans.

Ensure that the baby's name is strong, bold, and happy. It should reflect the qualities and traits of the boy and bring joy all around him. Choose a name that has strong gender identification. Pick a name that will stand him in good stead, and one he will be proud to be known by.

Baby Lovebirds - How to Care For Them

Should you have a need to care for the baby lovebirds, you have to understand what to do, because losing baby birds could be a rather discouraging experience.

baby halloween costumes

Where To Place them?

Baby

With regard to baby lovebirds, a sizable plastic-type reptile container works great for the first few weeks, providing the birds space to grow as well as keeping them safe. Line the bottom of the pot with cage liner and also make use of untreated paper towels above that, which will make cleaning on a daily basis effortless. If you place food on one end of the box and get the birds to utilize the other end for cuddling, you might help to prevent the birds making clutter in their food spot.

When to Take Over for the the Babies' Parents?

Naturally, the first thing to learn about caring for baby lovebirds is when you ought to let the parents take care of them instead. Generally, the best choice is always to pull the entire clutch at the same time when the youngest baby is about 10 days old, which can puts the oldest at about 16 or 17 days.

Any time beyond this and you will discover that the babies really don't take as well to hand feeding. If the baby lovebirds have hatched far apart enough that the oldest is going to be over the age of 17 days when the youngest is ready to be taken away, do not be afraid to remove them a couple each time.

Weaning

Probably the most popular methods for weaning is the so-called abundance weaning approach, by which you still use the syringe to feed the infant lovebirds while supplying them with sufficient adult food. This will motivate them to eat by themselves. Gradually, while their independence develops, the baby birds will stop wanting the syringe and will decide on eating their own food. Prior to selling your weaned lovebird, it is best to await a short time after the weaning to ensure there are no health issues. If there is not, then congratulation! You have hand-raised your first lovebirds.

Feeding from your Hand

For the first couple of weeks, hand feeding is your best guess. It is advisable to do this with guidance from an experienced trainer before trying to do it by yourself. You can buy baby bird formula, that should be given through a plastic-type O-ring syringe. Since baby birds are fed with regurgitated food, they prefer to eat warm food. Around 103 degrees Fahrenheit will be proper. Nevertheless, if you warm the food up at all, make sure you stir it thoroughly as well as test the temperature in advance to avoid hot spots and stuff like that.

So why would a baby cry in their sleep anyway?

Baby

It is actually quite common for a baby to laugh, cry, giggle, talk, babble, mumble, scream, etc. in their sleep. There are a variety of reasons why you have a baby crying in sleep. To understand the reasons, it is important to know a bit about the way a baby functions at a physiological level. Since birth, a baby is in a constant state of growth. Also, it is a fact that the younger a child is, the faster the rate is at which they grow. With all of the various changes and growing occurring in a baby's body, it is completely normal to have a baby that is crying in sleep.

When you have a baby crying in sleep night after night, it is most likely because of the reasons of growth as stated above. For example, it is especially common that a baby cry while asleep during the teething stages. This can be a painful developmental process for your child, and since a majority of growth occurs during periods of rest, it is understandable why your baby would be crying while sleeping.

Another simple reason for a baby that is crying in sleep is that the baby is having a nightmare. It is believed that baby may be dreaming that their mother has gone away or is not near to them.

Baby Crying in Sleep? The Reasons Why Your Baby is Crying in Their Sleep

To sum it up, it is common to have your baby crying in sleep. In most cases, it is nothing to be too worried or concerned about. How to Make a Baby Memory Blanket

Making a baby clothes quilt is such a wonderful way of preserving those cute baby clothes that were a gift from special friends or family members or even something really special you bought for your new baby. Most of these clothes haven't really been worn out as they are used for such a short time. Put some thought into it ahead of time by taking some pictures of your baby in some of the outfits you will be using in the baby clothes quilt and using the pictures to incorporate into the quilt or on the label that you might want to attach to this keepsake.

Planning Your Baby Memory Blanket

Baby

Clothes to use: Start with clean items. Besides the baby clothes you can use bibs, caps, socks, Halloween costumes, blankets, linens, special curtains and nursery items.

Quilt Sizes: Decide how large of a baby clothes quilt you would like. It can be as small or large as you would like.

28"x 28" quilt will take about 20 articles of clothing 36"x 36" quilt will take about 30 articles of clothing 50"x 60" quilt will take about 50 articles of clothing Twin size quilt will take about 70 articles of clothing

Quilt Backing: When you have gathered the articles that you would like in the quilt, lay them out and you should be able to see a prominent or favorite color that can be used for the backing of the quilt. I would suggest either fleece or flannel. Add an additional 3" onto your figure for each side to make sure that you will have enough fabric to turn over for the edging. If you will be using a separate edging you could get by with less. (Fleece comes in a 60" width, flannel 44" width)

Cutting the clothing: Most of the articles should be ironed (without stretching it) to get an accurate cut. First take a scissor and cut out as much of the flat area of the article that you want to use on the quilt. Next lay this piece of material on your cutting board and cut out a square or rectangular piece. Then sort these pieces into same sized piles. Sew these similar sized pieces into a horizontal row (as wide as your quilt will be). Next put this row on your cutting board and trim the top and bottom edge so they are straight. Iron the seams open.

Lay out of the quilt: Lay the quilt backing out on a flat surface (such as a bed) and then place the rows sewn together on top of it. This way you can visually see how long to make your rows and also see how you would like to arrange these rows. After you have decided - sew these rows together. Iron the seams open.

Quilting Your Baby Memory Blanket

Applique: Adding a name to this baby clothes quilt can be done at this time by appliqueing the letters directly on top of the clothing or appliqueing the name on a strip of material and then sewing the strip between your rows.

Squaring the quilt: After the pieces have been sewn together take a couple of measurements on the upper half and lower half of your quilt. They should be the same. Also take a couple of measurements the other direction. If they are the same you should have an evenly proportioned quilt.

Quilting your blanket: Place your quilt top on your backing trying to make sure that the seam (that you ironed open) are laying open on your backing. Place safety pins about 6 inches apart all over the quilt. Then quilt by either the tying or machine quilting method. This will keep your quilt top and quilt backing together.

Embellishments: Now is the time to add some of the special items like hats, socks and bibs. Either attach them by hand or machine stitching them on.

Edging: Decide how much of an edge you would like around the quilt. For flannel trim the backing to 2inches from the quilt edge to be folded over twice making a 1inch finished edging. For fleece trim the backing to about 1.25 inches from the quilt edge to be folded over into a 1inch finished edge. Fold the sides of your edging over first and sew it down with a straight stitch or use a decorative stitch. Next fold the top and bottom edges over making sure your corners are squared off. Then sew these edges down. Another way this could be done is to cut off your backing even with the top of your quilt edge. Using this method, you can sew on a separate edging such as satin blanket edging. These are especially nice to use on baby clothes blankets that are 40"x 40" or small as that is the amount of satin edging that comes in a package.

Quilt label: A quilt label can have important information related to why and when (date) this baby clothes quilt was made. Labels can be different shapes such as a heart, square or oval. Include a picture of the infant possibly wearing one of the outfits that are on the quilt. Choose a spot on the backside of the quilt to put your label. Hand or machine stitch it to the quilt.

Enjoy: You know there will be a smile on the face of the recipient of this baby clothes quilt keepsake!

Baby Angel Tattoos - Sweet and Sexy Baby Angel Tattoos

Angel and cherubs are known as popular baby angel tattoos for women. They're very cute, sexy and feminine. These tattoos are famous among women and they can make a great lower back tattoo design, or can be a chest piece or probably on the leg or on the arm.

baby food maker

Cherubs actually have a long history in western culture, and usually, we think of them as a symbol associated with Christianity, and are often present in all western religions. If you read the bible, you will often notice that there are mentions of cherubs and angels all throughout the Old Testament. But it was said that there were proofs that baby-like winged creatures came all the way back to the Assyrian culture, considered as one of the oldest cultures in the Western world.

Baby

The myths about these babies are that there were human like creatures that have wings that would often come as a messenger and guide to people. Torah, a Hebrew text, had also mentioned about the cherubim a few times in the Old Testament. And this means that they predate Christianity.

The concept of a cherub being attributed to a baby did not come in literature, not until the Renaissance time. During these times, the cherubs were depicted young boys and they were considered as a work of art. This is in Italy, were they are being referred as "Putti".

After several years, cherubs were being attributed to good tidings and are considered new creature from heaven. It was said that they usually take care of the souls of humans, after they die and leave their physical being and would ascend to heaven. The cherubs are known as the lining path to heaven, were they are seen playing harps and almost everyone in the West would associate them as a good symbol.

In the history of tattooing, cherubs are often the popular choice of baby angel tattoos in memorial or a Rest in peace symbol that are done in memory of a loved one that has passed away.

Best Baby Blankets - Super Soft Baby Blankets

Have you ever asked yourself the question"what are the best baby blankets?" In my opinion there are many blankets that fit the description. If you live in a very cold climate the warmth of a blanket is very important. A blanket that is light in weight but is very warm, such as a thermal blanket, would be the perfect one for this category.

baby monitor

The material a blanket is made from must be soft and not scratchy. From my own experience most wool baby blankets are irritating to a baby's sensitive skin, just as it would be to an adult. We want our baby comfortable so they will sleep peacefully and not be up all night crying.

Baby

Hand knitted baby blankets made from cotton or cashmere would be a wonderful choice, especially for someone who loves to knit and make the gift themselves. Handmade gifts are always very special and are appreciated and treasured by mom and dad. It is not very often someone takes the time and effort to create a gift made with love.

More choices to be considered are unique baby blankets, small baby blankets (usually so baby can carry it around and take wherever baby is going), silky baby blankets, and designer baby blankets.

No matter how many selections there are to choose from, one stands out for me. I like the super soft, that is light weight, keeps baby warm and can be put in the washer and dryer whenever it needs to.

Baby blankets are the number one gift to give a newborn. Don't forget that personalizing the blanket will make it even more special. In addition to the name you can also put the baby's birth date.

Just choose the type of blanket you would want to sleep under and you will know that the new little bundle of joy will be able to sleep "just like a baby!"

Different Baby Shower Types For Your Baby Shower Party

The first big decision after deciding to host a baby shower is to choose what type baby shower they want to host. This is a crucial decision because it will determine everything from the list of guests to the unique baby shower invitations to the food and games for the event. However, to choose the right type of shower the host needs to know about the different type baby showers are available.

baby shower

Baby Shower Types

BABY SHOWER

Picking the right baby shower invitation is important but the host can't do that without knowing the type shower she (or he) is going to be throwing. The choices are numerous. A sprinkle baby shower, for example, would be a good idea for parents who already have other children so don't necessarily need a huge party and lots of big ticket gifts. The party is more casual and the gifts are things that are necessary for each baby, such as diapers, gift certificates for baby formula, new crib linens, toys, and similar items. An adoption baby shower, on the other hand, is intended to celebrate an adoption. In these cases, the baby is almost always present at the actual shower and that makes other types of entertainment less necessary. Regardless of the type of shower, picking appropriate printable shower invitations is a must.

Having a Coed Baby Shower

Originally, when the first baby showers were held, they were just for women. This came from the old fashioned idea that raising babies was the woman's job. Now days showers don't have to be an all girls affair. For example, a co ed shower allows parents-to-be to invite friends and family members to the party no matter what the gender. Custom coed baby shower invitations should expound upon this more flexible guest list and the host should consult with the expecting parents to be certain they approve of a less traditional shower. After all, some new parents may prefer to have a ladies only event. Shower coed invitations can be found though many stationery vendors online.

Choosing Couples Baby Shower Events

The idea for couples to attend a shower together might be referred to as a coed couple baby shower. This could be a great idea if most of the friends on the guest list of the parents-to-be are married or in a relationship. The traditional shower games and activities could be tossed for this type of event. Instead of cake and punch, the couples could enjoy dinner and swap stories of child birth and parenthood with the expectant parents. This event could be a more traditional and serious affair as well. Regardless, couples shower invites for a couple baby party can also be found online and are the perfect choice of baby invites for this type of party.

Doubling the Fun with a Twins Baby Shower

When a couple is going to have two babies at the same time, they will need all of the help they can get from their family and friends. So having a party that welcomes both of the new arrivals with double the gifts and double the party is a good idea. Twin baby invitations are available and make a nice choice for this type baby showers because many of the guests might not know that more than one little cherub is on its way into the family. When have a multiples baby celebration, there are several ways to incorporate the theme. For one, the host could have a smaller cake for each of the babies (this is great if the twins will not be the same gender) or even separate diaper cakes, creative centerpieces made from diapers and baby items. This is definitely an option for some showers and a good reason to purchase shower twins invitations.

Hosting a Surprise Baby Shower

A surprise shower appeals to many hosts. The main objective here is keeping the celebrations a secret so the guests of honor can be surprised when they arrive or when the party arrives to them such as might be the case with a welcome home babies shower. Nevertheless the host needs to choose the surprise shower cards that will be effective in reminding the guests to keep the party a secret from the parents to be. The invitations surprise baby shower should most especially make it clear that the party is a surprise so no one spoils it because they didn't know. Of all the types baby showers around the baby surprise shower invites are some of the easiest ones to find. Baby surprise invitations are available in many different styles.

Ultimately, the most important point is not the type of shower that is thrown for the expectant parents but how many friends and family attended to welcome the new baby and to show their love for the expanding family. Welcoming a new member of the next generation is definitely something worth celebrating. Understanding the different shower types before planning the celebration can help.

Baby Boy Shower - Ideas For Decorations

Baby boy shower decorations can come in all shapes and sizes, and need not be expensive to make. In fact, the best baby boy shower decorations are those that are fashioned by the guests themselves, in tribute to the mother and her unborn son. If you are looking for ideas for baby boy shower decorations, then this article might be able to help you out.

baby swing

You can start making baby boy shower decorations by taking care of your venue's lighting. If you are holding the shower at the home of a friend and have full control over what you do, you can put small blue votive candles in empty jars of baby food. You can light these and place them in nearby tables and desks. Just be sure to watch these delicate baby boy shower decorations: the last thing you want is for your home to catch fire!

Baby

Drape the ceiling of your venue with baby blue ribbons, and hang used baby bottles from these ribbons. If you can afford to splurge on these cute baby boy shower decorations, fill the bottles up with light blue jellybeans or gummy candies. At the end of the shower, your guests can take home these sweet baby boy shower decorations with them as souvenirs.

You do not need to make a single centerpiece for your event. You can put together many small baby boy shower decorations in a punch bowl filled with water, then let these float around. You can put in little blue balloons, rubber ducks, and other floating toys. If you are having children over for the baby shower, then you can have a game and ask the children to pick their prizes from the punch bowl. The baby boy shower decorations automatically become toys and gifts for your guests.

If you are having a formal shower, you can use light blue pacifiers as napkin rings. If your guests are up for it, you can drink out of light blue, used baby bottles, and you can have milk and cookies for snacks. A baby shower should call back memories of childhood and playtime fun: a memorable baby shower will make your guests remember all the fun they had as children, without boring them or making them roll their eyes in irritation.

Aging Baby Boomers

'Baby boomer' is a term given to someone who was born during the Post-World War II baby boom.

baby gates

Different societies, groups, individuals, and specialists have varied differences in perspectives or insights regarding on what makes a baby boomer, both in a contextual aspect and socio-cultural perspective. Drawing the distinction and putting a finger on some unique attributes of a baby boomer is nearly impossible, nonetheless, the majority of people have tried to determine the broad socio-cultural similarities and historical impact of the generation, and thus, this term has gained popularity for its usage.

Baby

More often than not, baby boomers are cast aside or often labeled as those who are devoid from cultural or societal values. And yet, a lot of critics and observers have been debating over the magnitude of rejection, Taking into consideration the extent of the progression of given values with the old and the young alike.

Ironically, they are often associated with wealth and privilege in North America and Europe as many grew up in a period of great luxuries. In that time, they were considered to be the healthiest and wealthiest as a group, and were expecting the world to change for the better within a matter of time.

One of the most unique attributes associated with the Boomers was that they had these ideals to think of themselves as a special generation, Far distinct from those that had come before. Large groups of young people created specific eloquence around their social groups along with the change they so claim they were contributing.

This grandiose eloquence had consequently made a vital effect in how they have perceived themselves, as well as their urge to delineate the world in terms of generations, which was a relatively new occurrence.

The baby boom has been described inconsistently as a "shockwave "and as "the pig in the python." By the arduous force of its volume, they were a demographic bulge which has redefined the society as it has moved on through it.

Jonathan Pontell used the term ' Generation Jones'to distinguish those born from 1954 onward from the earlier Baby Boomers and is now currently used by English speaking nations although some non englisg countries also use this terminology to some extents.

Boomers grew up at a period of drastic social transition. That social change has labeled the generation with a strong socio-cultural division amongst the people who are driven for social change, and those who are more conservative in the United States.

Some critics claim that this division has played out politically since Vietnam War, to some extent defining the political landscape and division in the country.

In 1993, Time magazine reported on the boomers and their religious organizations. Wade Clark Roof was a sociologist at the University of California at Santa Barbara, h said that 42 percent of the boomers were 'dropouts' from a formal religious organization that had never been strayed away from church and that 1/4th of the boomers are returning to their religious affiliations. They are more open-minded, less inclined with tradition and less dependent on church members. They then became more receptive to moral issues such as homosexuality, abortion and euthanasia.

As time passed, the aging boomers have tried to stay away from discussions about their impending demise. However, in recent years, time has also changed and this change brought about a more receptive attitude and thus, more and more discussions about the end-of-life issues had been growing. Some commentators have said that the boomers are in a state of denial regarding their advancing age and are leaving economic liabilities and burdens on their children.

With this comes the problem of homelessness, hunger and poverty. Not to mention discrimination, alienation and social stigmas. At this point, the children of the boomers can and might become like those people we see on the streets. Beggars, drifters, bums, hobos, etc.

Aging Baby Boomers

The future may look bleak for the children of the boomers but there is a lesson to be learned. If their children learn from their parents' collective mistake then a lot of good may come from it. After all, as we live, we learn. Visit http://www.BabyBoomersAndAging.com for more information.

Each person is different in their own way. This makes him/her different from the others. Even siblings differ a lot. Still, with the distinct characteristics of every person, he/she still should be able to achieve a good relation with other people.

Lots of generations have existed and also exist now. For ages now, each and every one of them has a certain uniqueness that makes them different from the others. If you are a baby boomer, this would obviously be known by you.

Baby

What or rather who are baby boomers? The answer is that people born after the II World War are baby boomers who were babies born between 1946 and 1964, the prospering time of a country after war.

Baby Boomers have characteristics that are very different and unique when compared to that of the other generations. This maybe the result of the fact that they were brought up in an American Military dominated world. They lead life in a world which offers wonders like awesome gadgets and household appliances. During that time, you found unemployed individuals only very rarely. In other words, almost all the families lived a happy and prosperous life.

The academic leadership, political, cultural and also industrial classes are also dominated almost completely by the baby boomers. The prominent individuals, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are baby boomers and both illustrate diverging ranges of values and attitudes.

The baby boomers' families have the maximum incomes in America. There are also early and late boomers and the generation is marked mostly by early boomers as late boomers did not experience military drafts. The late boomers were more identified by many cultural factors which they were even able to share.

The late boomers, also, are called as the X's of the early generation. Presently, they are in a position where they wish to make a historical mark. The birth of baby boomers indeed makes history, and may even be the reason as to why they, in their right, are idealists. They are supposed to have a very big influence and impact over political and cultural matters. They belong to higher positions of power and the leaders there exhibit vision, decisiveness and can even withstand the worst of situations.

But baby boomers are famous not only for their positive attitude, but also for tendencies that are destructive like ruthlessness, arrogance and selfishness that can result in factional strife or outright despotism.

During the midlife of any baby boomer, they re-evaluate all things that have any relationship to their personal life. Those that have families concentrate on the success and failures obtained by their children as they want only what are best for them. A few boomers go even to the extent of directing and managing the lives of their children.

They are very much over-protective parents. They wish to sanitize everything that is seen by their children, even television programs. This is completely opposite to their childhood when they wanted to indulge everything with very few restrictions. Through their children, they wish to make improvements in the society.

Baby boomers, though being known as counter-cultural types and as hippies, also have interests in personal and social improvement. However, this, usually is exhibited after they become old.

Baby boomers were also greatly criticized for being anti - youth and ageist. This is evidenced further by the phrase 'do not trust anyone who is over 30'. However, not all of them are like this. There are even those who follow the society's social norms in their time.

All people, boomer or not, are all indeed important individuals who have the potential to contribute a lot for the world. People ought not to concentrate on the generation or era that they are from, but must make sure they do everything that will contribute to prosperity and peace of mankind.

Every person has characteristics that are positive as well as negative. Nobody is perfect, and it is an established fact. There are people who claim to be perfectionists. However this does not mean that they are perfect as people. It is only natural to make mistakes being a human being. But, the important thing is that one must learn from the experience given by the mistakes committed in the past. If you wish to improve your own self, you can do so. However, you must ensure that the improvement is for the better.

How to Have a Male Baby

If you've found this article, it makes sense to assume that you're thinking about or trying to get pregnant and you'd prefer having a male or boy baby. Below, I'll offer you advice to make this goal a reality and will also explain how and why these methods work.  Then, I'll offer you a few tips that can make this process run a bit more smoothly.

baby cribs

The Male Or Y Sperm Does Not Determine The Sex Of Your Baby:  I've had many people email me and ask "doesn't the male sperm determine the sex of your baby?" Actually, no, if you mean the Y sperm.  The sperm produced by the father-to-be, of course, does affect the baby.  But, that father-to-be's sperm contains chromosomes (both X and Y) that will produce two different baby genders.  X will produce a girl and Y will produce a boy.  Whichever of these are able to fertilize the egg first is the gender that will be produced. So, if Y wins the race, you'll get a boy and vice verse if X wins the race.

Baby

Increasing Your Chances Of Having A Male Baby: What really greatly improves your chances of having a male baby is manipulating the Y and X sperm based on what we know about the characteristics of both of these.  Y or boy sperm is lightning fast and this is a good thing.  But, to balance things out, it's also very weak and short lived.  To be successful in getting your son, you'll need to manipulate several things to give these weak little guys a fighting chance.

The first variable we need to manipulate is timing.  Boy sperm don't living for very long in your vaginal tract, so you want to conceive on the very day that you are most able to get pregnant (the day of your ovulation).  This ensures that those Y's don't have to wait around long enough to begin to die off and that they are still healthy and speedy.

It's important to find a very reliable ovulation predictor because if you are even slightly off on this, it can make a big difference.  I really like saliva predictors as they are cheap, reusable, and they really work quite well.

The second variable we can manipulate is your vagina or reproductive acidity and PH.  Remembering that the boy sperm often struggle to live long enough to make it to the egg, it's important to address a high PH. Because this environment is very hostile to these little guys and this can certainly be fixed.  You'll just need to alkalize your body until your PH is low enough to be friendly to a boy conception.

There are two ways you can do this. One way is through the foods you eat. Foods can be characterized as acidic or alkaline in varying degrees.  You'll need to cut out foods with a high PH and embrace foods with a low one.  There are foods list that help with this.

The second way to obtain an alkaline reading is by douching with neutralizing recipes.  Often, when I tell people this they groan.  I know the idea of douching is not always a great one. But, realize that this is just a short regimen that you'll only need to keep up until you are alkaline enough to know you're in striking range. There are douche recipes out there and using both douching and diet yields quick and dramatic results.

One tool that makes this all easier is PH testers.  They will tell you exactly where you are and how far you need to go.  And, you can continue to use them to check your progress.

The final variable that you can manipulate is how you send the sperm to the egg.  This means which positions you use during intercourse and conception.  Again, keep in mind that we want to give the weak boy swimmers a quick, and easy trip.  The way to do this is with positions that allow for deeper penetration.

I know that this can seem like a lot of information to process.  But, you can really break it down into small pieces.  First, determine your ovulation date.  Then, begin tweaking your PH well before that to allow for enough time to reach your optimal PH level.  Finally, when both of these things have the green light, use the right sexual positions.  Doing all of these things makes a huge difference and is said to raise your odds of getting a male infant to as high as over 90%.

Baby Photography - Lighting Tips

In baby photography one of the biggest challenges is lighting.

baby gates

Lighting babies and children is something that comes with experience. As with lighting any other subject, the most important thing is that you become familiar with a few basic setups, and then adjust the setup to suit the particular situation and subject.

Baby

When it comes to diffusing the light you have a choice of brollies or softboxes. My preference, in the studio is the softbox. When I traveled out customers home I used translucent shoot-through brollies. One of the main advantages with the softbox is that it directs all of the light forward. With the shoot-through brolly some of the light escapes from the edges and bounces back towards the camera. With this you need to be careful of flare so always shoot some test shots first and remember to use a lens hood.

Translucent brollies also give a nice effect if you shoot the flashgun back into them and reflect it back out toward the subject. To keep the lighting soft you do need to get in very close if you use this method. The reason for this is that you increase the distance of the light from flash to subject, and as you know a distant light causes a harsher shadow.

Reflective brollies are less useful than the translucent shoot-through style; they are too harsh for most types of portrait work. That said if you are looking for a harder light they are fine, but I can't imagine a parent being happy with a harshly lit shot of their baby! Reflective brollies are however good for lighting backgrounds.

The main reason for keeping lighting simple for baby photography is their volatility! For example you could be ready to take the shot and the baby crawls out of 'position'...if your lights are 'clinically positioned' and very directional the baby will quickly move out of the shooting zone.

If you keep your lighting basic, for example two large soft boxes, then it gives you more latitude for movement.

A relatively flat, even light generally gives the most pleasing results for baby photography. As a starting point I like to place a main light, either reflected from an umbrella or diffused through a softbox, between 35 and 45 degrees to one side of the subject, then use a similarly diffused fill light at 1/3 to ½ less exposure beside the camera as a fill light. I then adjust the lights to suit the subject's features in a flattering way.

An extremely fine-featured child often benefits by making the light "harder".

To achieve this, move the main light closer to the 45 degree position. Conversely, a child with large, sharp features or skin blemishes, such as a rash, will benefit if you move the light closer to the 35 degree position (i.e back round nearer the camera) and lessen the power difference between the main and fill lights for a softer look.

When using a harder, more dramatic light on children, it is important not to over-do it. When seeking a more formal, dramatic effect, I usually shift the main light to between 45 and 55 degrees. The fill light should remain near the camera. You may want to lower the power of the fill light to deepen the shadow areas, but with baby photography I generally find that it's best to keep the ratio within one stop.

What Are Baby Wet Wipes

Baby wet wipes are disposable cloths for the cleaning of infants' skin. These wipes are similar to dryer sheets in that they are not weaved. They are saturated with a mixture of components that are easy on the skin.

baby gates

The disposable non-woven cloths were made in the later part of the 1970s and baby wipes were selling very soon after that. With these wipes being so expensive, only the larger companies, like Kimberly-Clark and Proctor & Gamble could afford to produce them and controlled this market.

Baby

As technology grew and became more affordable, the smaller brands came out. By 1990, there were many supermarkets that had their own brand of wipes. The wipes from these companies had lower prices are drew more consumers in to buy them.

Baby wet wipes are sold in the baby/toddler area of most supermarkets. They usually sell between three and five dollars for a 64-count plastic tub. These sales are important because they compensate for the small profit margins of diaper sales. The wipes are sold next to diapers hoping that buyers will purchase them with their other infant products. Baby wet wipes are sold in a variety of sizes, styles and fragrances. Sales in supermarkets increased 5% to 3.9 million in 2000 from 1.4 in 1996.

Baby wet wipes are made to be tough for heavy cleaning yet also disposable. The fabric of the wipes is based on durability, cost and absorbency. It is deeply moistened with cleansing solution that is mild and effective. They are then kept in special containers to keep them moist.

Marketers are always coming up with new styles and sizes to attract users. One label uses Muppet Babies while others have characters on the actual wipe. One new trend with the wipes is being more natural. A variety of natural ingredients like Aloe Vera and oatmeal tend to increase the appeal of the products.

Water is the main ingredient in baby wipes and serves to dilute the other ingredients. They also contain mild detergents combined with moisturizers, fragrance and preservatives. These chemicals do no harm to the skin and decrease potential irritation. Mildness is necessary given that the wipes are in direct contact around very sensitive areas.

Baby wet wipes contain other ingredients that include preservatives to make sure the anything in the wipe does aid in the growth of microorganisms. Fragrance is added to some wipes to increase the appeal and help odors of the body, but fragrance-free products are also available.

There are different stages during the manufacturing process of the wipes that the quality is checked. The packaging must not have any faults that could possible cause leakage or not close correctly. The non-woven material must not be differently formed and also meet the requirements for tear-strength. The cleaning mixture has to be tested thoroughly. Chemists check to make sure the product is good for commercial shelves and not undergo chemical reactions.

Before any ingredients are added, they have to meet all specifications. They are tested during manufacturing and again when completed for basic specifications as pH and resistance to fluid.

Types of Baby Showers

There are different types of baby showers to cover just about any occasion. Baby Showers have been traditionally for Ladies only. But in this day and age, you can plan a baby shower for just about any kind of group.

baby halloween costumes

Shower for Mom:
The most common of the types of showers is a shower for mom. When you have only women at the shower, you have the opportunity to really "girl it up", so to speak, at your shower for mom. You can do really girlie things and not have to worry about the men being bored or embarrassed.

Baby

Shower for Daddy:
Baby shower for daddy is another of the types of shower. No one would realistically expect a new daddy-to-be to sit around with his closest buddies. Opening gifts and playing party games while oohing and aahing over the imminent birth of his child. But that doesn't mean that Dad can't have a shower-type celebration.

Shower for the Family:
Another of the types is one for the entire family. Though showers have traditionally been held for mommies-to-be only, times are changing and many people are having showers to celebrate the new baby's whole family-to-be.

Shower for Twins:
For the parents expecting twins, or possibly more, you can have a twins or multiples party. Multiple or a twins shower can be given when the mother-to-be is expecting twins or more. Having twins is twice as nice. But it's also twice as much work and twice as expensive. Fortunately for Moms expecting twins or multiples, there is usually someone willing to throw a party to help ease the strain on the wallet.

Baby for Adoption:
Some parents choose to adopt, and they need to know you care about them too. Adopted babies are just as much a part of the family as any other newborn. These types of showers would be very thoughtful and greatly appreciated by the mom.

Shower for Second Child:
Types of baby showers can also be for a second, third or more. Sometimes this type of shower would also be called a caboose shower.

Long Distance Shower:
When the mother or parents cannot be at there, you can hold a long distance type. Also called an absentee, virtual or online shower.

Shower for Couples:
A baby shower for couples is another type of shower you could have. This shower is for both the mom and the dad-to-be. If having a baby couples shower seems odd to you, consider this: mom-to-be did not get pregnant on her own. Nor will she likely be raising the baby on her own. So why should she get to celebrate on her own?

Shower for Grandma:
Throwing a baby shower for grandmother would be a great way to commemorate the excitement of becoming a grandparent for the first time. There's nothing like spoiling the little cuties for a day and then sending them home to their parents!

Surprise Shower:
Will the mother-to-be know of the party, or will you be having a surprise shower? Remember, mom could go into labor early and you would have to cancel or re-schedule the shower. Also, you would have to figure out a way to spring it on her without her finding out. However, if you want to surprise her and the obstacles don't bother you, go for it.

Shower for Teacher:
Something a little different would be a shower for teacher. Studies show that there is a lot of interest in this type of shower. You would give the teacher a shower similar to a shower for mom.

5 Safety Tips For Baby Canopy Cribs

Baby canopy cribs are a beautiful addition to almost any infant's bedroom. They can be elegant or traditional, or anything in between. Some parents even choose to dress up the canopy with fun accents that tie the crib in with the baby's room decor. However, before you make any additions, always perform a safety check. Baby canopy cribs can be an attractive choice for your little one, as long as you are aware of these safety tips.

baby walker

Tip #1: Constructing the Crib

Baby

Every parent knows that when you put the baby's crib together, you should perform a stability check. Make sure all parts are installed correctly and each mechanism functions as it is supposed to. When building baby canopy cribs you have to check for more than wobbly legs and loose sides. Baby canopy cribs have an extra part added: the canopy. Ensure you have added this to your list and verified the stability and strength of the canopy before using the crib.

Tip #2: Fabric Additions to the Crib

Baby canopy cribs look stunning with lengths of fabric added to the top or down the posts and sides. When incorporating these elements, make sure they are not in reach of the sleeping little one. A length of fabric that falls into the crib can become wrapped around your little one. Each piece should remain outside of the crib.

Tip #3: Secure Canopy Accents

Your safest bet when dressing up baby canopy cribs is to avoid a lot of little pieces on the canopy. These can become loose and fall into the crib, where they could pose a danger to your baby. When you do make additions to the canopy, always verify they are secure and cannot potentially fall in.

Tip #4: Outside Dangers

Baby canopy cribs are generally safe, however you should also consider outside dangers that can lurk even in your baby's bedroom. Make sure the crib is a safe distance from wall hangings, shelves and other potential falling hazards. Keep in mind, the canopy is not intended to act as a shield should something heavy fall on to it. Even if the wall hanging feels stable, you never know when an accidentally thump or vibration in the house might knock something loose.

Tip #5: Follow Up Checks

For the most part, canopy baby cribs are just as durable as regular cribs. They should work fine, as long as you purchased a quality model in good condition and followed these safety tips as well as manufacturer's directions. Although the crib is sturdy, it is still a good practice to periodically check for wear and tear on the joints, mechanisms and anything that is weight bearing on the crib. This will help you stop a potential problem before it poses a serious threat to your baby.

Follow these safety tips and you can get plenty of safe use out of baby canopy cribs. Dress up your infant's room with one of the most popular crib styles available. The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating a crib canopy, so get creative but remember to keep safety in mind.

Arabic Baby Names

The Arabic baby names are names from Arab speaking world also known as Muslim baby names. That is because Muslim is predominant in the Arab speaking world. Hence, some baby names are not really Arabic such as Iranian and Turkish baby names.

baby gates

The Arabic baby names may be quite long. The Arabic baby names may consist of Ism (given name), Laqab (nick name), Nasab (parent name), and Nisba (family name). In same cases, the Kunya (which means first born son) precedes the baby names.

Baby

The Muslim religion have great influenced on the Arabic baby names. Many Arabic or Muslim baby names use the ninety eight attributes of Allah. In Arabic, Allah means God. Abd Al which means "servant of the" precedes many baby names. Similarly, Al or El means the article "the" in English. For example, Abd-Al-Sami means servant of all hearing, Abd-Al-Rashid means servant of the all guided, and Abd-Al-Jabbar means servant of the mighty. Now, Abdul is more common form of Abd Al.

The descendant names of Muhammad are also popular choice. For example, Umar, Ali, Bakr, and Fatima are descendants of Muhammad. Umar (strong supporter of Muhammad), Ali (cousin of Muhammad), Bakr (father in law of Muhammad), and Fatima (daughter of Muhammad) are baby names meaning life, lofty, young camel, and abstain respectively.

The names of prophet became popular as well. For example, Ibrahim which means father of many is counterpart of Abraham, and Mariam which means sea of bitterness is counterpart of Mary.

A great number of baby names start with Al (which means the), Ibn (which means song of), and Abu (which means father of). El means the same as Al. Al can also mean the tribe or clan of origin in some regions of Arab. For example, Al-Amir means the prince, Al-Asad means the lion, and Al-Fakhir means the proud. Another example, Abu Kadir means father of Kadir, Abu Idris means father of Idris, and Abu Ishaq means father of Ishaq.

By adding the letter A or H at the end, anybody can turn the male baby names into female baby names. For example, Khalida is a female baby name of Khalid, Hashima is a female baby name of Hashim, Abdullah is a female baby name of Abdul, and Iyyah is a female baby name of Iyya.

Many baby names also have modernized or shortened. For example, Avicenna (Ibn Sina), Achmed (Ahmed), Amurath (Al Murad), Saladin (Salah Al-din), Aladdin (Al-din), Nureddin (Nur Al-din), and Almanzor (Al Manzor).

Fun And Free Printable Baby Shower Games

It is always a challenge at the beginning of planning a baby shower what games to play. Of course, you want it to be fun and creative and not too lame. As well, you are considering the costs, so free is always better. The solution I have for you is finding some free printable baby shower games.

They are not difficult to find on the Internet. What is also great is that you can easily print out the game instructions and have them with you at the party and ready to pass out the game pieces.

BABY SHOWER EVITES

There are all types of games that are appropriate at different points in such a party. You can have door prize games, for example. Also, there are themed games (religious, seasonal), name games, baby feature games, nursery games, etc.

If you prefer other games, then feel free to make up your own. We all have creative talents. By coming up with your own game ideas, you can easily think of others. It is really not that difficult. For that matter, just about anything can be turned into a game. All that it really takes is being silly. For example, here is one I recently made up, but I'm sure it's not original to the world of ideas out there by any means.

The game is called Baby Spelling Bee. It is not a contest, like regular competitive spelling bees. Instead, I just take the idea of having to use your brain to decipher the scrambled letters to make out real words or phrases. Here are the directions to the game...

Create a list of about 20 or 30 baby-related words. Mix up the letters and phrases randomly for each word. Take the list, and print out multiples of them to pass out to your guests. This may be a timed game if you like, and the first guest to rearrange the words properly wins. You can also create more words and place them on sheets of paper to hand out.

Now, there is really no genius to it, is there? That is my whole point. Baby shower parties are meant to lighten the heart, encourage participation and evoke laughs. I bet if a room fool of females played that game, that there would be a few laughs at the very least.

You can easily find free printable baby shower games. Just have a look around Online. They are not difficult to set up, and they are very cost-effective. You'll find that playing these games at the baby shower party is great fun.

Baby Clothing Stores

Whenever the time comes for parents to buy clothes for their young ones, most prefer baby clothing stores for one reason only-the variety of clothes available there. These shops stock up on all kinds of baby clothes for all ages and keep accessories as well. In fact, the floor attendants here, are well versed in baby clothes thus can help parents choose the right wear for their wards.

baby food maker

Clothing stores that specialize in only baby wear, keep clothes of many brands and also a few for daily use. They stock up mostly with those brands which are affordable and yet fashionable. This is because most parents prefer buying clothes that are cheaper as babies outgrow them fast. Clothes that would have fit a baby a few months back would not cover him properly today. This is the reason why most baby clothing stores stock up with large volume of clothes for the age group of 0 to 5 years. Studies of the recent show that the average duration a dress lasts a baby is only 5 months. At this rate, buying clothes would become a daily affair. Therefore, most baby clothing stores advise parents to purchase clothes that are slightly bigger in size than required.

Baby

Baby clothes cannot be made from all kinds of materials. They should be soft, comfortable, durable and easily washable. Natural fibers are not only best in terms of comfort but also prevent rashes and other irritations from flaring up. Since a baby's skin is soft, it is easily scratched. Hence, synthetic clothes are not a suitable choice. All baby clothing stores stock up on all-natural or mixed type clothes.

All the items stocked up by baby clothing stores are manufactured keeping a few guidelines in mind. Clothes meant for newborns are always made from 100% pure cotton. Furthermore, all items are made with elastic in them to facilitate easy removal and putting on. Buttons are also absent from these clothes since babies can choke on them. For the age group of 1-3 years, clothes are made without any laces since toddlers can easily entangle themselves in them.

Although fashion does not rate all that high as compared to functionality of baby clothes, there is no reason why they have to be dull and dreary. Many baby clothing stores in fact, keep clothes that are funky yet functional. These are often from well known brands and can cost higher than regular wears. Nevertheless, these dresses are a hot commodity among parents, as they would also want their wards to look fabulous and adorable while being comfortable. A dash of color or a unique pattern may all be that is required to accessories a baby. As such, accessories like baby head wear, gloves, shoes etc. come in many designs and styles.

Baby clothing stores have discount sales and clearance sales at some point in the year. These are perfect times to buy clothes in bulk at cheaper rates and stock up for coming few months. Such sales coincide with a change in the season when old stocks are quickly sold off. Making most of the buys at this point of time can save money as well as get the most clothes possible.

Baby Clothing Stores

Shopping at online baby clothing stores is a good way to see lots of different products quickly. Especially if you are looking for baby clothes for gifts.

Baby Toys To Stimulate Your Baby

We all want the best for our babies. We give them the love they crave, warm their bellies, and rock them to sleep every night. One important factor in becoming a new parent of a baby is providing them with the tools they need to learn, grow, and conquer the world. Baby toys are a very important investment for all parents to make. But what are the right baby toys to purchase for your baby?

baby food maker

Baby Toys to Stimulate Hand-Eye Coordination

Baby

Hand-Eye coordination is the ability to see and grab objects. At the age of four months your baby's hand-eye coordination is beginning to develop. Your baby will grab at objects, and try to pick them up. Don't worry, he will master this quickly. Around five to six months your baby will learn how to reach for a baby toy, perhaps a baby block, grasp it, and hold onto it. Around seven months, your baby will learn how to drop that toy when he is done playing with it.

Developing hand-eye coordination is a crucial tool for all babies to master, and as soon as possible. We use hand-eye coordination in every day tasks such as bringing a fork to our mouths, brushing our teeth and hair. Think about it. Mastering hand-eye coordination can help a person to be able to do more complex tasks like typing quickly on a computer, playing the piano, painting a masterpiece, even sewing a button on a dress. You could be the proud parent of a modern day Mozart!

When trying to help your baby, the best thing you can do is hold a baby toy within reach from him. Then wait for him to grab it. You do not want to show him how it works. To him, that's all the fun of it! Some baby toys that help with developing hand-eye coordination are:

Blocks - Soft Blocks for ages 4 - 7 months and more sturdy blocks for babies older than 12 Months. Stacking Toys will teach your baby to not only maneuver the object, but to also fit them together. Household items such as plastic lids, plastic bottles.
Stimulate Your Baby's Senses with Textured Baby Toys

Have you felt the pull of your hair when your baby is about four months old? We've all felt it, and our reaction is first pain, then joy. A lot of us, just remove the baby's white knuckle grip, and say "No", but is this really the response we should be giving? This is your baby saying, "I need my sense of touch stimulated!" Maybe instead of just saying "No", give your baby a toy that will stimulate his sense of touch, teaching him that many different things have different textures, shapes, and colors.

There are many baby toys that will do just this. There are toys that have different textures such as bumps, and curves; Baby toys that have crinkly material, and other fabrics. There also toys that have all this and lights and music to stimulate your baby's sense of hearing.

Some toys that you might want to consider are:
Crawl Mats and Play Nests - Baby crawl mats comes in several styles. One toy manufacturer, Galt, has created an infant play nest that stimulates touch, vision and hearing. The fabric covers inflatable ring creating a self contained safe play environment for babies and toddlers. Activity Cube - A big soft colorful block with fun activities for baby to explore. Features may include mirrors, crinkle material, wool, sounds and lights and more. Music makers - These baby toys allow baby to press different buttons and see what new sound is made.
Stimulate Your Baby's Mind and Emotions with Music

Have you ever heard a song that, no matter what mood you were in would cheer you up immediately? Or maybe one that made you sleepy? Well, babies feel all these emotions from music too. Music is a wonderful way to introduce your baby to their own sense of emotions, feelings, and the wonderful world of creativity and imagination! Several baby music CD's are available to invoke various feelings in your baby. Some better choices for parents to consider include the Brainy Baby® music collection.

Peaceful Baby(TM) by Brainy Baby® - Calming, restful music that progressively lulls your child into a deep and refreshing sleep. Cheerful Baby(TM) - Cheerful Baby's compositions, melodies, rhythms and tonal ranges encourage a happy mood! Playful Baby(TM) - Vibrant, invigorating music that encourages your child to actively experience the richness of their world. Sleepy Baby(TM) - Calming, restful music that progressively lulls your child into a deep and refreshing sleep.
So What Do You Look For?

When you go toy shopping for your baby, you will want to focus on toys that will stimulate your baby's mind, senses, curiosity and imagination. For a baby up to one year old, keep it simple with large, soft baby blocks, stacking toys, play mats or play nests, activity cubes. As a bonus during playtime, throw a CD in the CD player and watch your baby touch, explore, and learn about his new found abilities!

Girl Baby Shower Themes

Theme baby showers are becoming quite popular and enable an exciting event to be even more fun. Some popular girl baby shower themes include young animals, such as baby turtles, puppies, or elephants, characters, such as cowgirls and princesses, or others, such as safaris or cherry blossoms. Follow these simple steps to creating your memorable theme baby shower.

Invitations:

Set the tone of the party, including the colors you will use to decorate with, and let guests know what to expect with the invitations. Include the fact that this is a theme shower in the information. You can find cute invitations in bulk online or at your favorite party supply store. If the theme matches the decal of the future girl's room, you may ask guests to bring items that match the theme for the new mom. For instance, if you're throwing a ladybug themed shower, ask guests to bring ladybug pillows, blankets, and even lamps for the nursery. Alternatively, if you're going with a princess theme, ask guests to bring pink and silver clothes and decorations for the new child.

Decorations:

The decorations should create the mood for your celebration. For instance, if you've chosen a little cowgirl party, include cacti and horse pin-ups throughout the room. Consider making centerpieces out of cowboy hats, perhaps by filling them with flowers that match the color scheme you've chosen. Or, for an elegant cherry blossom theme, spread cherry blossoms throughout the room. Also choose plates, napkins, and cups with cherry blossoms on them. Decorate the room with red, black, pink, and white balloons and flower petals. You may also want to include cherry blossom scented soaps and lotions in the bathroom for guests to use.

Games:

Even the games at your shower can match the theme you've chosen. For instance, if you've gone with a baby animal theme, your games can center on animals. Whether these include a word search, animal bingo, or a game in which you must list songs with animals in the title, both young and old are sure to enjoy this. Or, perhaps you'd like to have a Disney trivia game in which you ask questions about animated movies whose main characters are animals (such as Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, and Tarzan).

Menu:

The food offered at your shower is your final opportunity to remind guests of your theme. With any theme, you can bake cookies that are decorated to match your decorations. Also, you may set the food tables in designs that align with your theme, such as the shape of a biscuit for a pink puppy party. For a cowgirl party, include Southwestern food, such as tacos, dips, and even a nacho bar. The nacho bar may include chicken, beef, beans, guacamole, salsa, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, among other items. This allows guests to choose what they want the most. On the other hand, for a pretty princess party, make things dainty and pink. Include miniature sandwiches and cupcakes with pink frosting and sprinkles. You may also wish to include a pink punch and serve it in elegant glasses.

Halloween Baby Shower Favor Ideas

Trick or treat! Picking the perfect Halloween baby shower favors can be tricky, but they are sure to be a treat for your guests. Show your guests that you appreciate their attendance and participation by giving them a unique and personalized Halloween shower party favor. Below are some suggestions on how to blend the spirit of the Halloween season with the excitement of welcoming a new baby.

baby walker

Put beloved Halloween candy in its own "costume". Give the everyday chocolate bar a Halloween shower "costume" by putting it in a custom candy bar wrapper. Purchase personalized candy bar wrapper stickers with graphics that match your baby shower theme, the mom-to-be's name and the date of the shower. Get creative with the "nutrition information" and "ingredients". These would also make cute prizes for guests who win the "guess what chocolate is in the dirty diaper" game and a nice surprise for the dad-to-be's hospital survival kit.

Baby

Let guests fill their own Halloween pumpkins with their favorite treats. Purchase small Halloween pumpkins from the craft store and hang custom Halloween baby shower labels on the handle for decorations at the party and for your guests to take home as favors. You can pre-fill them with personalized m&ms, candy corn or other small candies, or have guests create their own personalized mix.

Create your own Halloween treat bags. Order cellophane goody bags and stick personalized Halloween baby shower labels on the bag to create your own trick-or-treat bags. Fill the bags with traditional Halloween candy mixes, yummy homemade Halloween cookies, popcorn balls, candy apples, or anything else you can come up with.

Give guest the scents of the season. If you are looking for something other than candy favors, consider giving your guests a beautifully scented, hand poured soy candle. Choose a color and scent to reflect the season such as Cinnamon Vanilla or Hot Apple Pie. Add a personalized label with graphics that match your baby shower theme, the baby's name, and the date of the shower. Your guests will remember the baby shower fondly every time they light the beautiful candle.

Think practical. October is the start of cold and flu season. For a Halloween shower favor that your guests will use over and over again, give them small hand sanitizer bottles with personalized stickers on the bottle with the shower information.

Incorporate favors into the decorations. Favors aren't just something you hand to your guests as they leave. Sprinkle the favors throughout the party and use them as decorations! In addition to punch and sodas, offer guests water bottles with custom printed water bottle labels. Use Halloween baby shower cupcake wrappers to offer guests different flavors of cake or as little cups to hold chips and candy while playing games.

With a little thought and creativity, you can easily turn everyday baby shower favors into beautiful Halloween baby shower favors. Just remember to stick to your color scheme and your theme to pull everything together into a cohesive event that everyone will remember as fondly as trick-or-treating!
